Heidi Teresa Babb completed her undergraduate degree in Fashion and Textile Design from Plymouth University and previous years of formal training in art education led her to postgraduate study at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design in London. She graduated with an MA degree in Textile Design Futures and further progressed to doctoral study which she hopes to complete in the near future. Her research was concerned with questioning tradition through challenging conventional design. Babb examined traditional gender identity through conceptual narratives which also offered a cross cultural reflection of a ''false identity'' through patriarchal indoctrination.
Babb also lecturers at Yeditepe University and has worked commercially as a freelance designer in London for fashion and interior based textiles and has sold work internationally.
In addition, she has been a lead tutor of International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) in Art and Design in the UK and also lead tutor for BTEC Nationals in Art and Design. She was selected as Special Educational Needs Coordinator for an online Art and Design College in the UK.
