Mete Çubukçu was born in 1962. He has master degree from Marmara University, Social Science Institute, Radio and TV Deparment.
He worked for print and broadcast media since 1987.
He worked for ATV and STAR TV in dates of 1993 and 2003, senior correspondent for NTV News Channel dates between 2003-2005. He was News Director of NTV between 2005-2011. Çubukçu also prepared foreign news program which is name “Passaport”. At the moment working as producer and anchor of news program.
Çubukçu covered a lot of international news, summits, and made interviewes with prominent statesman; latest Mr. Mahmud Ahmedinejat, former Iranian President, at 2009 and 2010, Celal Talabani, Iraqi President at 2010, Lula de Silva, former Brezilian President at 2009 , Mahmut Abbas President of Palestine 2010, Jack Straw former British Foreign Minister 2010, Ismail Haniyeh Prime Minister of Palestine Gaza at 2012.
Mostly covered stories at Middleeast. Besides that he had made many stories at international crisises, conflict areas and war zones such as Iraq, Afganistan, Pakistan, Bosnia. Palestine, Israel, Lebanon, Algeria, Chechenya, Syria and Iran.
During these years he participated some speical courses about international journalism at Great Britan (1991), USA (1998), Hungary (2003), İstanbul (2005)
Çubukçu has many awards of journalism which were given by Turkish Journalism Association, Contemporary Journalism Association, some universities and NGOs.
He is a expert of Mideast, War journalism, international media, Turkis politics. He gave some lectures at different universities such as; news in TV, conflict zones, international media, media and mideast, ethics and media
