Documents Required for Undergraduate Application

IMPORTANT NOTE: TOEFL documents shown during enrollment should contain the code number 8256 which is the code specially designated to İstanbul Bilgi University. Documents that do not contain the code number 8256 or those that have been previously taken will not be accepted. Additional result reports can be requested by calling the centre, by connecting to the TOEFL online registration system or by sending a Score Report Request Form that can be obtained from the TOEFL IBT Information and Registration Bulletin.

During the application period students who were not able to obtain an acceptable score on one of the international English language competency examinations (TOEFL, TWE, and IELTS) can take the BİLGİ Institutional Exemption Test (BIET) upon arrival. Those who fail the proficiency test must take an intensive English course in the English Language program of the university before beginning their academic studies. This preparatory year is not included in the total number of years of study required for graduation.

  • Equivalency document for your diploma (proof of equivalency can be provided from Turkish Embassies in the home country or Provincial Department of Education Istanbul

  • Tuition fee bank receipt
  • 6 Passport Size Photos
  • Certified copy of an English proficiency test if available (IELTS, TOEFL, BIET)

Tuition Fees

•All undergraduate international students are subject to a %50 scholarship on tuition only!

Faculty of Architecture: 9000 USD + VAT

Faculty of Arts and Sciences: 7500 USD + VAT

Faculty of Communication: 7500 USD + VAT

Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences: 7500 USD + VAT

Faculty of Engineering: 9000 USD + VAT

Faculty of Law: 9000 USD + VAT

School of Applied Sciences: 7500 USD + VAT

School of Health Sciences: 7500 USD + VAT

English Language School (Preparatory School): 7500 USD + VAT 

Accommodation

Istanbul Bilgi University has two different dormitories both on and off campus.  International students may reserve their rooms after admissions.  Price list is available on the News & Events section.

Health Insurance

The foreign students shall meet their premium costs in order to benefit from the General Health Insurance as a result of change realized in Article 34 of Law No. 6111 and subparagraph (g) of Article 60 of Social Security and General Health Insurance Law No. 5510.

International students are liable to pay for their own premium to be insured by Turkish Social Security Authorities.

Application / Evaluation Process

All applications are subject to the evaluation of the related faculty.

The international office personnel return to the applicant as the faculty accepts/rejects the application.

The results are announced as soon as the faculty decision is made.

4 years excluding the preparatory class

•Are there any other additional scholarships?

All international students get a %50 scholarship on tuition and no additional scholarships are available.

•May an international student work?

International Students can NOT be employed on/off campus according to the regulations

•How do we get the high school diploma equivalency letter for final registration?

The university may accept the application of an international student however for final registration the equivalency letter has to be provided by the student to the registrar’s office.  The letter can be obtained by applying to local Turkish Embassy’s Education Counsel.

If not the letter also can be obtained in Istanbul.  Please contact international center for further and detailed information in this regard.
