In view of its social and political life as well as its geopolitical position, Turkey is a country which participates in or has connections with stimulating developments in all areas of Public Law. Globalization and its role on the transformation of domestic public law order or resistance against this fact, attempts towards the redesign of the constitutional system, regional security issues, regional endeavors at democratization and the discussions brought by the concepts of law and order in relation to both individual rights and democratic regime present various problems to be discussed in the context of Public Law. Bilgi Ph.D. Program in Public Law is aimed at providing for a Public Law formation through a critical thinking approach geared towards academic creativity and innovation.
Ph.D. in Public Law Program consists of seven courses, two of which are mandatory and five of which are electives. After the completion of doctoral coursework and succeeding in the doctoral qualifying examination, candidates will write a doctoral dissertation on a subject chosen by consultation with their academic supervisors. Doctoral program shall be completed upon the successful defense of the doctoral thesis. In case the doctoral candidate or the academic advisor finds necessary, the candidate may take courses from other doctoral programs within the University.
Ph.D. in Public Law courses will take place at the Istanbul Bilgi University Dolapdere Campus weekdays between 09:00-18:00.
