Laureate International Universities offers a number of awards and scholarships to exceptional students and faculty. BİLGİ has also participated to some of these awards.
Laureate International Universities “Awards”
The Young Social Entrepreneur Awards @ BİLGİ were launched in May 2010 as a collaborative effort of the Sylvan/Laureate Foundation, İstanbul Bilgi University, TEGV Educational Volunteers Foundation of Turkey and the International Youth Foundation. The awards program seeks to recognize and support accomplished social entrepreneurs, between the ages 18 and 29, throughout Turkey.
Each year, 10 Turkish social entrepreneurs will be selected to receive:
• Recognition in a public awards ceremony
• Cash awards of $3,500
• A Turkish-language training experience on topics relevant to their social change work, including leadership, fundraising and public relations
• Access to a global network of YouthActionNet™ alumni
The Laureate Award for Excellence in Robotic Engineering is a contest for undergraduate students enrolled in Laureate Institutions to develop an interactive robotic system to welcome, guide and provide multimedia presentations to visitors at any Laureate campus. Consistent with the theme “Get to know my Laureate Institution”, the robot should guide the visitors through their campus and share the relevant and important background and facts about their institution in a compelling manner.
