Nominating Application Procedures Incoming Students
Information for Applicant Students
The deadline for submission of online applications is June 1 for the following fall semester or academic year and November 1 for the following spring semester. Due to university regulations regarding student admissions and registration, we cannot accept late applications. We also cannot extend study periods of exchange students originally indicated during the online nomination and application. If you have been nominated and have applied for one semester only, you are officially admitted and registered for one semester before your arrival. This cannot be extended to a full year after you arrive or in the middle of the semester.
BİLGİ has a two-stage online system for exchange students. At the first stage, the International Office of your home university will nominate you online as an Erasmus or a bilateral exchange student. At the second stage, you will be invited by e-mail to complete an online Application Form.
In the e-mail message, you will be given a username and a password. When you click "Online Application Form", you will be asked to enter your username and password. After you log in, you will access the online Application Form. On the form, you will be asked to provide personal information.
Before you make your application, please read carefully the web pages for exchange students at www.international.bilgi.edu.tr
Before filling out the form, have your passport with you and make sure that you have connection to a printer. Use only English characters on the form.
You can save a draft of the Application Form and log in later to finish the form. To submit your application to us, check that all the information is correct and click "Complete my application". You must then get a print-out of the Application Form. You must sign, obtain the signatures of your Erasmus coordinators at your home university and attach a passport size photo to the print-out of your Application Form and e-mail it to the BİLGİ Erasmus Office email@example.com
We must receive by e-mail the print-out of your Application Form in order to send you your Acceptance Letter by mail. With your Acceptance Letter.
If you later choose not to attend BİLGİ, you must ask your International Office to cancel your nomination.

Information for University Partners
BİLGİ has a two-stage online system for exchange students. At the first stage, the International Office of the partner university nominates Erasmus and bilateral exchange students online. At the second stage, the student nominated will be invited by e-mail to complete an online Application Form.
Exchange student nominations are based on the exchange quotas designated in the Bilateral Agreements. BİLGİ cannot accept nominations above the quota of exchange or admit students from departments that are not indicated on the agreement.
The calendar of the online system is as follows:
April 1: Online nomination for the following fall semester or academic year begins
June 1: Deadline for student applications for the following fall semester or academic year
September 1: Online nomination for the following spring semester begins
November 1: Deadline for student applications for the following spring semester

When you click "Online Nomination" below, you will be asked to enter your username and password. We will e-mail the International Office of partner universities and give them a username and password for each semester in advance. If you forget your password, you can e-mail email@example.com to receive it again. Please do not pass this information on to students.
After you log-in, you will be connected to your access page. Click " Student Pre-Application Form " to view the Nomination Form. On the form, you will be asked to enter information about yourself (the nominating individual), the student's name, contact information, his/her area, level and year of study, the period of exchange and the academic program at BİLGİ for which the student wishes to apply. . Once you enter this information, you will be asked to click the “complete the pre-application” form button. After clicking the button, the student will have an automatic e-mail regarding the application period. After completing a nomination, click " Student Pre-Application Form " to nominate another student or Exit if you are finished. You are able to follow the application status of the nominee from my outgoing students tab. In order to cancel the application, you need to inform us via e-mail
The student nominated will automatically receive an e-mail from us at the e-mail address you have provided on the Nomination Form. The student will be provided with a password in the e-mail and with this password can access the online Application Form. The nominee need to submit the online application form for fall semester 1th of September to 1th of November and for spring semester 1th of April to 1th of June.
The " General Course Catalog " lists all the undergaduate courses of the University in which some courses are marked as “Recommended for International Students” (courses offered entirely or in large part in English). If you do not speak Turkish, you should register only for those courses titled as Recommended for International Students. Turkish speaking international students may register for any course listed in the “ General Course Catalog ”.
Each course in the catalog is assigned both BİLGİ and ECTS credits. Erasmus exchange students should take into account only the ECTS credits. The normal workload for a semester is 30 ECTS credits. We strongly advise that international exchange students not exceed 36 ECTS credits or 6 undergraduate courses a semester.
Restrictions, special conditions or prerequisites for courses do not apply to international exchange students. You must instead obtain the approval of your Department Erasmus Coordinator at BİLGİ. It is very important that you consult with your Department Erasmus Coordinator prior to course selection.
International exchange students may take courses from any faculty or department as electives, alongside their major field of study. Undergraduate students may register for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th year courses depending on the program requirements of their home university and their areas of interest. 100 level courses are introductory, 200 level courses are introductory to intermediary, 300 level courses intermediary to advanced, and 400 level courses are advanced level undergraduate courses. Postgraduate students may register for 500 level MA courses, as well as take advanced undergraduate courses depending on the program requirements of their home university.
International students may register for TK 111 "Turkish Language for Foreigners-Beginners Level" and TK 112 "Turkish Language for Foreigners-Intermediary Level".
