After entering university, you are eligible to receive IB and Contracted School scholarships. You may apply for a need-based scholarship at the end of your first year and a achievement scholarship at the end of your second and third years.Which scholarships am I eligible for throughout my education?
You may apply for a need based scholarship at the beginning of the academic year in August. The documents and information needed to apply for the scholarship are listed on the web page and on Student Pages.
There is no need to apply for achievement scholarship. This scholarship is given to all students eligible in July.
The validity period for each scholarship is as follows:
OSYS scholarship: 2 years for the English Preparatory Program, 6 years for undergraduate study, and 3 years for associate degree study. Not valid for summer school.
Achievement scholarship: Second and third year students that have a cumulative GPA and a GPA for the last two semesters of at least 3.75 (out of 4.00) are eligible for a 50% achievement scholarship. Not valid for summer school.
Athletic scholarship: Any student that has previously not been awarded any kind of scholarship and has either been selected for national duty or has shown great performance after being selected to a University team can be given an unconditional "athletic scholarship" for an amount determined by the Scholarship Committee upon the recommendation of the Sports Coordination Office.
IB scholarship: 2 years for the English Preparatory Program, 6 years for undergraduate study, and 3 years for associate degree study. Not valid for summer school.
Need based scholarship: These scholarships are given at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee and are valid for one year but are not valid for summer school.
Contracted school: 2 years for the English Preparatory Program, 8 academic semesters for undergraduate study, and 4 academic semesters for associate degree study. Not valid for summer school.
The OSYS scholarship cannot be revoked due to any grade point average. Excluding the English Preparatory Program, any student that cannot complete their undergraduate program in 12 or an associate program in 6 semesters will have their scholarship revoked.
Because the achievement scholarship is valid for one year, it expires at the end of the academic year.
Any athlete that exhibits undisciplined behavior, arbitrarily does not show up for practice or events and has a GPA below 2.00 at the end of the academic year will have their athletic scholarship revoked.
The IB reductions will be revoked if you do not complete your studies within the time frame as stipulated in the OSYS scholarship or you extend your studies.
If a student has earned the right to internally transfer to another department within the university while they hold an OSYS scholarship, said student will lose their OSYS scholarship as dictated in the respective directive. However, if said student has a GPA between 3.50 and 4.00 and applies for a scholarship, that student will be granted a need based scholarship. If said student has a GPA between 2.40 and 3.49, the specific context is reviewed by the Scholarship Committee.
Every student can benefit from an additional scholarship with the approval of the Scholarship Committee.
