Prof. Gonca Günay, Vice-rector for Research

Prof. Gonca Günay completed her secondary and high education in 1992, İzmir American High School. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Bilkent University Department of Management in 1996 and MBA degree from Koç University in 1998. In 2004, she received her PhD degree in business administration at Dokuz Eylül University. To conduct her research in the field of management and organization, she had been as a visiting scholar at Columbia Business School in 2006 and Post-Doctoral Fulbright Fellow at Harvard Business School in 2010.

She started her academic career as a Research Assistant at İzmir University of Economics and worked at the same university during period 2001-2012,  at İstanbul Aydın University in year 2012-2013, at İstanbul Bilgi University in year 2013-2014, at Kadir Has University in year 2014-2015. Since 2015, she contines her academic studies in management and organization as a faculty member of İstanbul Bilgi University Business Administration Department. She has lectured in management, strategic management, negotiation, creativity and innovation. Her research interests focus on behavioral entrepreneurship and women’s studies.

Yiğit Dağhan Gökdel, Faculty Member, PhD, Advisor to the Rector

Yiğit Dağhan Gökdel graduated from İstanbul Saint Joseph High School in 1999. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Bilkent University Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department in 2004 and received his master’s and PhD degree from Boğaziçi University Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department in 2007 and 2011 respectively. He worked in UT-Austin Biomedical Engineering Department as a postdoctoral researchers in 2012. Since 2013, he has been a faculty member at İstanbul Bilgi University Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department. His research topics include biomedical and optical microsystems, microelectromechanical systems and sensor technologies.

Eda TİRYAKİ, Project Executive

Eda Tiryaki worked as European Union project specialist in public sector between 2006-2010. She worked as a project monitoring specialist in DOKAP Regional Development Grant Support Program carried out between 2007-2009 and as an independent assessor in Promoting Women’s Employement Grant Program on behalf of MFİB in 2009.

Between 2010-2016, she carried out the duty of monitoring and evaluation specialist in Eastern Black Sea Development Agency (DOKA). On behalf of DOKA, she worked as project manager in the international project aiming to increase regional capacity with the support of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

In 2010, she completed “Training on Participatory Local Social Development (PLSD) Approach” in Japan. She conducted field work on implementing Japan cases into TR90 region, the project elements of which includes local product manufacturing, eco-tourism, migration, waste management, impact analysis of grant programs. She worked as 3rd Module Specialist in “Establishment of Marmara University Technology Transfer Office-TÜBİTAK 1601” project in 2016. Since 2018, she has been working as the director of BİLGİ Project Office and giving lectures on project management as part-time lecturer in undergraduate and graduate programs.

Sinem Bağçe, Project Specialist

Sinem Bağçe completed her bachelor’s degree in Yeditepe University Faculty of Economic and Managerial Sciences, Department of Economics in 2011 and her master’s degree in Galatasaray University Institute of Social Sciences, Department of Economics in 2013. She is continuing her PhD education in economics in Yıldız Technical University Institute of Social Sciences and Graduate Studies and studying on “Ethnicity and Identites in Turkey’s Labour Market: Refugees and Roma People”.

Sinem Bağçe, who worked as a research assistant in Yeditepe University Faculty of Economic and Managerial Sciences Department of Economics, conducted projects on commercialization of scientific knowledge, business development and fundraising as entrepreneurship and commercialization specialist in İstanbul Okan University Research and Project Development Office between 2012-2018. She worked on  behavioral economics methodology as a visiting researcher in Center for Philosophy of Social Science under Helsinki University in 2018. Since 2019, she has been working as a project specialist in İstanbul Bilgi University Projects Office on individual supports, project development and managing processes.

Melis Zeybek, Project Assistant Specialist

Melis Zeybek graduated from Manisa Celal Bayar University (MCBÜ) Faculty of Economic and Managerial Sciences Department of Business Administration. She carried out “Awareness in Organ Donation” with the support of MCBÜ Faculty of Medicine and Manisa Provincial Health Directorate. She participated in First Chance  Program developed and supported by Esas Social under ESAS Holding in 2019 and worked as financial affairs specialist in Darüşşafaka Society. Within the program, she joined civil society support projects conducted in civil society in collaboration of several non-governmental organizations. She completed 21st Century Skills and Mentorship trainings. Now, she is working as project assistant specialist in İstanbul Bilgi University Projects Office. She is providing support to education, public presentation and awareness projects, human resources of projects and managing internal funds.

Hilal Mula,Project Accounting Officer

Hilal Mula worked in İstanbul Bilgi University Press between 2008-2010. She worked in İstanbul Bilgi University Financial Planning and Analysis Department between 2010-2011. Since 2013, she has been working in Financial Accounting Department and  responsible from accounting and financial reporting processes of all internally and externally funded projects.
