İstanbul Bilgi University Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering students Beril Aygül, Sena Ulgaz, and Berkay Yılmaz’s project titled ‘Disposable Paper-based Piezoresistive MEMS Flow Sensor’ developed under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Yiğit Dağhan Gökdel has been entitled to be supported within the scope of TÜBİTAK 2209-A Research Project Support Programme for Undergraduate Students.

The ‘Disposable Paper-Based Pyoresistive MEMS Flow Sensor’ project focuses on improving the diagnosis of respiratory diseases. The project aims to design and manufacture a paper-based, pyoresistive MEMS airflow sensor for the rapid and preliminary diagnosis of respiratory diseases such as asthma and COPD. Addressing the risk of infection spread with reusable spirometers, the project aims to create affordable and accessible solutions that will particularly benefit low-income countries lacking access to spirometry technology.
