About the Faculty

Uğur Tanyeli

In 2005, the MArch Program in Architectural Design was founded as a joint project by Turkey’s leading academicians and architectural designers and in the academic year 2009-2010, İstanbul Bilgi University Faculty of Architecture was established. Education in BİLGİ Architecture undergraduate and graduate programs takes place at the santralistanbul Campus.

The BİLGİ Faculty of Architecture, which was developed bearing in mind international standards in the field of architecture, aims to provide an interdisciplinary education. Designed according to the interactive model of education, the four-year undergraduate programs provide students with the opportunity to pursue their studies in a high-intensity studio environment.

Through exposure to an educational environment open to innovations in technological, social and aesthetic realms, students in the BİLGİ Architecture program are enabled to gain experience through immersion in situations involving contemporary professional practice.

Undergraduate programs in the BİLGİ Faculty of Architecture are based on three tracks that are mutually interactive:

  • Digital design-calculation laboratories and workshops
  • Manufacturing and prototyping laboratories and workshops
  • Research, seminars and excursions regarding the contemporary city, architecture and design culture
