Gülfem Naz Akyüz earned her Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design from Istanbul Bilgi University. Bridging the gap between design practice and theoretical inquiry, she completed her MPhil in Philosophy and Social Thought at the same institution with her thesis titled "Absent Referents in Everyday Things: Ready-made’s and How They Affect Human Conditions". She is currently pursuing a second Master’s degree in Industrial Design at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. Prior to her academic career, Akyüz worked as a design manager, curator, and editor for an Istanbul-based institution involving a publishing house and art gallery. She also served as a part-time instructor, teaching a course on Design Publishing. Her research interests focus on design theory, curatorial practices, and the intersection of philosophy and design.
