Dr. Kafescioglu received her BA in Psychology from Ege University, an MA in Clinical Psychology from the University of Indianapolis, and a Ph.D. in Couple and Family Therapy from Purdue University. Dr. Kafescioglu is an emotionally focused therapist and supervisor certified by the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT). She is also a child-centered play therapist certified by the Association of Play Therapy. Her research focuses on changes in couples' relationships over time and the link between interactional patterns, emotion regulation strategies, and mental health.
