Serkan Karakaş
Dr. Serkan Karakas is an Assistant Professor specializing in port business, maritime logistics, and container terminal operations, with over seven years of hands-on experience in performance measurement and operational analysis at the Kumport Container Terminal in Ambarli Port.
Before starting his academic career, he served as a deck officer on commercial vessels and participated in offshore infrastructure projects at the Kashagan Oilfield in the Northern Caspian Sea with ENKA, gaining a strong operational foundation and a comprehensive perspective on the maritime industry.
His current research focuses on terminal optimization, maritime supply chain resilience, and the digital transformation of port logistics. He aims to connect academic insight with practical application by addressing real-world challenges in port operations.
