Dilek Gürsoy
Education
Dilek Gürsoy began her academic journey with a strong interest in visual communication. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Parsons School of Design, and her academic background is situated at the intersection of design thinking and communication studies. During her undergraduate education, she developed an interest in biomimicry, which she further explored in her graduate studies in Visual Communication Design at İstanbul Bilgi Üniversitesi through her final project titled Biomimicry: The Inspirational Nexus.
She received her PhD in Communication from İstanbul Bilgi Üniversitesi with her dissertation titled Transmedia Journalism Toolkit (TJT): A Design Thinking Guide for Creating Transmedia News Narratives (2018). She is also the author of Transmediality in Independent Journalism: The Turkish Case (Routledge, 2020).
Her research interests include design thinking and transmedia studies with a focus on Turkey.
