BİLGİ Department of Computer Engineering students Ahmet Emre Sertdemir, Emrecan Çelik, Saltuk Buğra Karacan, and Samet Çelik received second prize in Hack Boğaziçi competition.

Organized as a 24-hour hackathon in the fields of machine learning, natural language processing, and image processing with the theme Industry 4.0, Hack Boğaziçi competition took place with the participation of 14 teams across the country. In the competition, the teams developed solutions for Industry 4.0-related problems and made presentations regarding how these solutions would work in real life.

BİLGİ Department of Computer Engineering students developed a system to score the sustainability criteria (ESG) of companies by analysing the text and image data scraped from four different sources through artificial intelligence. The data were acquired from Google News, Twitter, LinkedIn, and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Their analysis provided outputs with regard to the gender diversity and carbon emissions of certain companies and a sentiment analysis concerning the social and environmental news and social media posts of these companies was conducted. On the basis of these outputs, the students developed a sustainability score.
