Announcement about the trees on our santralistanbul Campus

Dear Students,

We would like to provide you with information regarding our carefully conducted work concerning the trees at our santralistanbul Campus that have reached the end of their life cycle, as well as our efforts to protect the green spaces we share.

As you are aware, in accordance with the scientific evaluation conducted by the Istanbul University Faculty of Forestry and the decision of the relevant Regional Commission for the Protection of Natural Assets, we unfortunately have to part with some of our trees that have been identified as posing a safety risk due to their health condition.

Within this scope, the controlled removal of trees that pose a risk on our campus will begin, and the process of planting new trees in their place will be initiated.

The first phase of these works will take place on April 23, 25, and 26, 2026. During the implementation process, it is planned that a new tree will be planted on the same day immediately after each tree is removed. In this way, the continuity of the campus’s green environment will be preserved with great care.

While bidding farewell to trees that have been part of our shared life on campus for many years, we believe that each new tree to be planted will leave a valuable mark on the future of our campus.
