The term of our UNESCO Chair in Cultural Policy and Cultural Diplomacy has been extended until 2030
The UNESCO Chair in Cultural Policy and Cultural Diplomacy, which has been operating within our university since 2018, has had its mandate extended to 30 June 2030 by decision of UNESCO headquarters in Paris.
Led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serhan Ada, the Chair will continue to contribute to UNESCO's work in the field of culture through activities in research, education, community engagement, and communication.
In the coming period, the Chair aims to expand its work in cultural policy through the UNITWIN Network on Cultural Policies, Diversity and Transformation (2024) — of which it is a founding member alongside Universitat Hildesheim (Germany), University of Arts (Serbia), University of Warwick (United Kingdom), and Université Laval (Canada) — with contributions from civil society organizations in Africa and the Global South.
The Chair carries out its work in close collaboration with our university's undergraduate and graduate programs in Arts and Cultural Management, as well as the Cultural Policy and Management Research Center.
