TÜBİTAK–EUREKA-EUROSTARS funding awarded to the LUMIA project co-led by Associate Professors Tuğba Dalyan and Savaş Yıldırım

The project titled “LUMIA: Fair and Transparent Artificial Intelligence for Education and Learning,” submitted to the TÜBİTAK–EUREKA-EUROSTARS Programme by Assoc. Prof. Tuğba Dalyan and Assoc. Prof. Savaş Yıldırım, faculty members in the Department of Computer Engineering at our Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, has been awarded funding.

The project aims to develop LUMIA, an AI-powered assistant based on ethical principles for teaching and learning processes. The platform, which will be integrated into Learning Management Systems (LMS), will leverage Large Language Models (LLMs) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) technologies to support content creation, assessment, and personalized feedback while enhancing the transparency and reliability of AI-generated outputs.

The project is internationally coordinated by Olive AI Limited (UK), with Etgi Grup Bilişim A.Ş. (Türkiye) participating as a consortium partner alongside İstanbul Bilgi University.
