“Migration and the Politics of Integration”, co-authored by Prof. Ayhan Kaya, faculty member in the Department of International Relations and Director of the European Institute at our university, and Karin Borevi, has been published by Springer IMISCOE. Available in both open-access and print editions, the book offers a critical and analytical introduction to migration and the politics of integration.

Drawing on Nira Yuval-Davis’s concept of the politics of belonging, the book examines the politics of integration by exploring how belonging and social cohesion are shaped through different political projects. Combining theoretical discussions with empirical research, it addresses contemporary concepts such as interculturalism, multiculturalism, populism, nationalism, nativism, and the securitization of migration, while analyzing the transformation of migration and integration policies in Europe during the neoliberal era.

Designed as a valuable resource for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as researchers, policymakers, and practitioners working in the field of migration, the book is available in both open-access and print formats. Click here to access the book.
