Faculty of Law Research Assistant Abdullah Harun Korkmaz awarded the Diploma of The Hague Academy of International Law
Abdullah Harun Korkmaz, Research Assistant at our Faculty of Law, has been awarded the Diploma of The Hague Academy of International Law, one of the world’s leading academic institutions in the field of international law.
Korkmaz received the Diploma of the Academy as part of the 2026 Summer Courses on International Law, which brought together 354 participants from 75 nationalities, and was the only person to be awarded the Diploma in private international law this year.
The Diploma is awarded following a rigorous and highly selective assessment process. The jury consisted of the Academy’s Secretary-General, Prof. Jean-Marc Thouvenin; General Course lecturer Prof. Dário Moura Vicente; and Directors of Studies Prof. Roxana Banu and Prof. María Mercedes Albornoz.
With this achievement, Korkmaz became the second person from Türkiye to receive the Diploma of the Academy, which has been awarded to 348 individuals worldwide since 1950.
