A peer by your side throughout your university experience: Peer Mentoring Program begins

Sometimes, the best guide through university life is a student who has been there before you.

The Peer Mentoring Program aims to bring students together with experienced peers, helping them make their university life a more informed, connected, and empowering experience.

Offering peer support based on shared experiences across a wide range of areas—from course selection and academic life to adjusting to university, career planning, and internship opportunities—the program gives you the chance to meet new people, discover the opportunities available at BİLGİ, and strengthen your connection with the BİLGİ community.

Launched as a pilot program at our University last Spring Semester, the Peer Mentoring Program will accept applications for the 2026–2027 Academic Year from August 31 to September 25, 2026.

According to survey data collected following the program’s first semester:

  • 84% of mentees rated the support they received from their mentors as “very good” or “good.”
  • Students reported benefiting most from mentor support in academic success and study methods, course selection and registration processes, adjusting to university life, and career planning and internship opportunities.
  • Mentors reported that the program particularly helped them develop their empathy and interpersonal, mentoring, and communication skills.

Whether you want to make your university experience more rewarding with the support of a peer or use your own experience to guide another student, there is a place for you in the Peer Mentoring Program.
