BİLGİ Robotics Team finalist in "The Laureate Award for Excellence in Robotics Engineering" for the 5th Consecutive Year!

We are proud to announce that İstanbul Bilgi University Robotics Team from Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences has become a finalist for the fifth consecutive year in “ The Laureate Award for Excellence in Robotics Engineering”, with their project “Punnet”.

Among all eligible project proposals coming from Laureate Institutions all over the world, the Laureate Internal Committee selected “Punnet” as one of the six finalists. The proud team members of BİLGİ team are Mehmet Ataberk Sarı, Uğur Uğurlu,  Masarra Mohamed and Barkın Metin. In this remarkable success the team was advised by Dr. Mehmet Ayyıldız and Professor Ahmet Denker  participated as a member of the Laureate Internal Committee. The finalists will go on to finals which will be held in Peru.

“The Laureate Award for Excellence in Robotic Engineering” is a contest for undergraduate students enrolled in Laureate Institutions to develop an interactive and intelligent robot. This year’s theme is to design and build a smart robot which has a mission of taking up tasks in “industrial logistics”. Excelling in these contests has already been a legacy for BİLGİ robotics teams. BİLGİ team had won the 2nd place award in Madrid in 2015 and 3rd place award in 2017 in Brazil.
