About

The Department of Occupational Health and Safety aims to raise "Occupational Health and Safety Technicians" who have sufficient knowledge in the field of biology in order to ensure the safety of the working environment of the workplace, who can determine physical, chemical and psychological dangers and risks, have the required skills for reporting and tracking incidents and are well aware of legal regulations.

Occupational health and safety technicians are experts engaged for the creation of safe and healthy working environments for workers and employers. After the Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331 took effect, it became mandatory to procure Occupational Health and Safety services regardless of the number of employees and sector. Thus, it became compulsory for all sectors to recruit occupational safety experts.

Our students who graduate from the Occupational Health and Safety program become entitled to take the specialty examination offered by the Ministry of Labor, Social Services and Family, and earn the title of "occupational safety expert".

Graduates may also work at private/public companies and Joint Health and Safety Units authorized by the Ministry.

Graduates of the Occupational Health and Safety Program have the chance to transfer to 4 years' programs of Occupational Health and Safety, Emergency and Disaster Management, Business Administration, and Health Management and Social Services of various universities with the Vertical Transfer Examination (VTE).
