Using Resources Efficiently
AN OPEN INVITATION TO COLLABORATION IN ELT 

Joint forces for joint goals; a common platform for high schools and prep departments.

İstanbul Bilgi University’s English Language Programs is proud to announce the second stage of what was started in 2010. 

No one in the world of education can complain that we lack resources. The most important question is, ‘How can we use our resources efficiently?’ BİLGİ ELP would like to create a platform where ELT Professionals from both universities and high schools can discuss this issue from different perspectives, and find ways of selecting and using resources that motivate our learners to be better users of English. 

This 2012 BİLGİ ELT event is hosting three well-known ELT specialists as plenary speakers: 

Emeritus Professor Michael MCCARTHY from Cambridge University Press  Dr. Deniz KURTOĞLU EKEN from Sabancı University  Jim SCRIVENER from BELL Educational Trust. 

The following invited keynote speakers will share insights from their fields of expertise on how to use resources efficiently: 

Prof. Birsen TÜTÜNİŞ, İstanbul Aydın University; “Pre- and In-Service Teacher Training”  IATEFL President Eric BABER, Cambridge English; “The World of EFL Publishers”  Gordon LEWIS, Laureate International Universities; “Blended Learning”  Zeynep ÜRKÜN, Sabancı University; “Assessment & Evaluation”  Kristina SMITH, SeltAcademy; “Teacher Training” 

Also, ELT professionals from several institutions will hold concurrent sessions for you to choose from with regards to the overall theme. We are hoping that all the conference participants will benefit from these academic and practical ideas presented during the event. 

İstanbul Bilgi University will organize a free lunch to the conference participants. There will be a special reception at our Dolapdere Campus along with other surprises and a raffle for the participants following the sessions.
