EJTA Annual General Meeting and Conference

İstanbul Bilgi University Faculty of Communication together with European Journalism organizes the EJTA Annual General Meeting and Conference. The conference will start on Thursday 17, with briefings about the media in Turkey. We will have our AGM that afternoon, with discussions about our various projects, including of course the World Journalism Education Congress in Brussels next year.  We hope also to have two best-practice workshops about aspects of teaching journalism. There will be a conference dinner that evening at BİLGİ.

On Friday 18, we will have a conference on press freedom, and we have secured several distinguished speakers including: Professor Haluk Şahin of İstanbul Bilgi University, Journalist and Commentator, Prof. Aslı Tunç, Assoc. Prof. Esra Arsan, Asst. Prof. Itır Erhart, Russian media lawyer Galina Arapova, who heads the Mass Media Defence Centre in Voronezh, Dr Stephan Russ-Mohl, Director of the European Journalism Observatory, Filip Voets, Ombudsman for media and Secretary General of the Flemish Press Council of Belgium, Nadire Mater and Erol Önderoğlu, both members of Reporters without Borders. The conference will end around 4 pm on Friday May 18.
