“Addiction” is a very important problem effecting humanity.

The seminar is organized by BİLGİ Psychological Counseling Unit to examine the subject through different points of view. “Information” might give a good deal of power for the protection from a lifelong disease. The aims of the seminar are to questionize the wrong beliefs and discuss about the development of the right information to replace instead of the wrong belief.

WRONG BELIEFS:
“I won’t be addicted.”
“Only chemicals are addictive, weed is a plant it has no harm.”
“Nothing happens with only one try.”
“Everyone uses; I can stop if I want.”
“Only the ones with weak willpower become addicted.”

RIGHT INFORMATION:
“Everyone can be addicted.”
“Narcotic/stimulant substances are either synthetic or natural. Natural psychoactive substances like weed also contain chemicals.”
“Addiction is a process and starts with a try.”
“No one starts to use a substance to become addicted.”
“Substance use is a threat for everyone.”

The seminar is free and open to all BİLGİ students. The presentations will be in Turkish.
