PEER COUNSELING PROGRAM

Peer Counseling Program (Student-to-Student Support Program) is based on the notion that people who share the same atmosphere, who experience common feelings and problems would understand each other better. The aim is to help you deal with difficulties better by sharing your academic, social and/or personal problems with the students who have been trained for this purpose and are working as a part of the Psychological Counseling Unit.

Confidentiality principal is vital for the program. Interviews done with “Peer Counselors” will not be shared with anyone else, unless there is a risk of serious harm to self or others. If you need someone to listen to and understand you, you may contact a “Peer Counselor”. “Peer Counselors” will carry on doing individual sessions, group work and adaptation facilitating activities for the newcomers throughout the year.

Who are “Peer Counselors”?
