ICC Court of Arbitration and İstanbul Bilgi University present the 4th Istanbul Willem C. Vis Pre-Moot

Date: 7-8 March 2015
Place: Dolapdere Campus

Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, is an organisation taking place in Vienna which fosters the study of international commercial law and arbitration for resolution of international business disputes through its application to a concrete problem of a client and to train law leaders of tomorrow in methods of alternative dispute resolution and will be held this year for the 22nd time (http://www.cisg.law.pace.edu/vis.html). Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, with the participation of nearly three hundred universities, is one of the most comprehensive and prestigious competitions in its field. Prior to the Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot various law schools and law firms organise national and international preliminary studies (“pre-moot”) for the purpose of preparing students in the best way for the Moot.

BİLGİ Faculty of Law is proud to organize the Istanbul pre-moot since 2012. This year the event will be presented together with the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Court of Arbitration. Eight Turkish universities (Ankara, Istanbul, Istanbul Bilgi, Istanbul Sehir, Galatasaray, Kadir Has, Koc and Marmara University) are participating in the event. With the support of the ICC, this year’s Istanbul Willem C. Vis Pre-Moot will provide the teams with an unparalleled opportunity to try their arguments on cutting-edge provisions of the ICC Rules before members of the ICC Secretariat and arbitrators with experience in ICC arbitrations. Besides, more than 50 scholars and lawyers will support the pre-moot as arbitrators. (Click for the list of arbitrators.)

After the rounds on Saturday, 7 March, an ICC YAF Conference (The Young Arbitrators Forum of the International Chamber of Commerce) will also take place at İstanbul Bilgi University (http://www.iccwbo.org/training-and-events/young-arbitrator-forum/).
