University of Miami, March 6-8, 2015

Do you have a passion for social innovation?

Laureate is looking for dedicated students to participate in the 2015 Clinton Global Initiative University meeting. If you are committed to driving social change and making a positive long term impact on your local and global communities, we want to hear from you.

Started in 2007 by the Clinton Foundation, CGI U is an annual meeting that gathers students, university representatives, subject matter experts, and celebrities to discuss and develop solutions to global challenges. This year President Bill Clinton, Secretary Hillary Clinton and Chelsea Clinton will bring more than 1,100 students from around the world together in Miami, Florida for the meeting.

As part of the collaborative work of the Laureate International Universities network and the Clinton Foundation, Laureate has been sending students to participate in CGI U since 2011. In 2015, we are able to sponsor an additional number of exceptional students from the network to attend the event. Students interested in attending must make a commitment to lead a project that will benefit their local community or global society, need to be able to communicate in English (written and verbal) and will need to be able to travel to the United States in March 2015 for approximately one week.

Interested? To apply, please submit:

A personal statement of 500 words in English indicating why you should be selected to attend the 2015 CGI University and the impact you anticipate this meeting having on your future aspirations. Two letters of recommendation from professors, employers or other leaders who can vouch for you and how you would benefit from this experience (500 words maximum).
