Documentary Screening and Talk: “Voltrans”

The event is organized in the context of Volunteer Activities by Tarlabaşı Community Center in collaboration with İstanbul Bilgi University Center for Migration Research.
In Voltrans, both a documentary and a work of oral history, trans men tell their own stories. Voltrans, established as a solidarity platform for trans men, has a special place in LGBT movement for two reasons. First of all, compared to other LGBT people, trans men are less visible in society and secondly defining oneself as “man” in a movement struggling as default against the patriarchal system is complicated.
After the screening there will be a talk with the participation of Ilksen Gursoy from Voltrans Initiative for Trans Men.
*The documentary will be screened with English subtitles and is free to participate.
