Thursday Talks are organized by İstanbul Bilgi University Graduate Program in Cultural Management.

Over the past several years, the sustainability of intangible cultural values, including music and dance culture, has become an issue for ethnomusicological research as many such traditions are currently at risk of disappearing. Therefore a critical examination of cultural sustainability on both conceptual and practical levels, and by applying cultural policies and ethnomusicological methods, has become inevitable. In this seminar, the interrelated parameters of sustainability in social sciences and suggested ways for the contuniation of  the cultural practices in Turkey will be demonstrated by means of a cultural sustainability model based on data obtained from fieldwork conducted in Domaniç, a rural area located in western Anatolia.
