Hacking the Glass Ceiling: Tech Solutions for Gender Equality

Date: December 8-10, 2017

The Istanbul Social Innovation Hackathon challenges developers, designers, entrepreneurs, humanitarians and gender advocates to develop tech-based solutions addressing gender equality issues. It is your turn to hack the glass ceiling and stand together with women and girls around the world!

From December 8th to 10th, participants will work in teams to tackle a challenge that contributes to gender equality. During the hackathon, subject-matter experts will share knowledge, give feedback and help teams to overcome obstacles. At the end of the hackathon, teams will have an opportunity to present their ideas, prototypes and business plans to a panel of judges. Prizes will help support the most viable projects to move forward.

The Istanbul Social Innovation Hackathon is sponsored by Microsoft and organized by Re:Coded within the scope of the “Strengthening Social Stability in Southeast Anatolia” Project funded by the Government of Japan and implemented in partnership with GAP Regional Development Administration (GAP RDA), Harran University, Istanbul Bilgi University and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
