In the panel that will follow the seminar by Professor Tarazi, the discussants will explore the qualifications the designers need to have in the in the face of environmental challenges as well as the ways in which educators and educational institutions can address this issue.

Ezri Tarazi

Prof. Ezri Tarazi is full professor at the Technion, chair of t-Hub, innovation and entrepreneurship center, chair of Design-Tech Lab, and chair of the Industrial Design program. He is a former chair and founder of the Masters Program in Industrial Design (M.Des) at Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem. He has been consulting the Israeli government on innovation programs in the industry for almost 20 years, and member of the High Education of Israel (2006-2016). Prof. Tarazi is a world renown industrial designer and theorist of Design Thinking, and a serial co-founder of startups. Founder and owner of ’Tarazi Studio’ since 1996 and also the founder of the “d-Vision” innovation program at the international Keter Group (2005-2012), a Design Lab that acts as a unique model for innovation and cooperation between Innovation Strategy and Design in the business sector. Prof. Tarazi was working in the world known firm IDEO and was co-founder of its office in Israel from 1998 - 2002. He is the author of 7D -” Fostering Goods” – 2012, presenting a unique approach for Innovation through natural metaphor. As a co-founder of Penza Group Tarazi was involved in the last 6 years in supporting a national innovation strategy and mentoring over 100 companies and start-ups in Latin America, Europe and China. His work was exhibited in museums such as the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, NY and the Triennale di Milano.
