Ina Soltani’s collections are inspired by the artisan traditions of the world. Soltani’s deep appreciation of the arts motivated her to study film before turning to fashion design and graduating from FIDM, Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles. Her awareness of a woman’s body is seen on some of Hollywood’s most glamorous women.

These alluring women have catapulted the Los Angeles based designer and her dresses into the spotlight but it’s her clients; women with elegance and beauty that truly capture the essence of Ina Soltani.

Who is Ina Soltani?
Ina Soltani was born in Sarajevo, Bosnia. She always had a strong desire to leave her mark creatively. Brutal war in Bosnia in 1992 caught her and her family by complete surprise. She was, at the time, an exchange student finishing high school in Southern California. For two years during the occupation of Bosnia Ina was completely cut off from her family and on her own in Los Angeles.

At 17, Soltani put her design dreams on hold while she struggled to survive. After the war, she was reunited with her family, but chose to remain in the United States where she would further her education and found her career.

Over time she pursued a variety of design-related fields: film, acting, and jewellery design. Eventually she turned her energy to another theatrical pursuit: fashion. She subsequently graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles and started her own label.

Ina Soltani’s signature cocktail dresses and evening gowns are studies in appreciation of the sleek and classical. Her designs are strongly inspired by the dramatic narratives of her homeland, its artisan’s traditions, and a deep appreciation of the arts and crafts world. Her collections are passionate and glamorous, filed with high drama and mystique.

The design of Ina’s clothes, are signified by her being a finalist for 2009 The Fashion Group International’s Rising Star Award. Her designs have been worn by A-listers such as Jennifer Lopez, Cindy Crawford, Eva Longoria, Miley Cyrus, Kerry Washington, Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry, Kristen Stewart, Carrie Underwood, Jessica Beil, Jessica Chastain just to name a few.

The next step for the designer was to be featured for the Sundance Channel’s show “All On The Line” hosted by Joe Zee, Design Director of Elle Magazine. The premise of the show was to mentor young designers to help build their business and launch RTW collection. Selected as a contestant, Mr. Zee encouraged Ina to use drama and mystique in her design, with contemporary details she interprets to set her apart from other fashion designers.

Ina has been developing her collection with private clients and building retail partners for her business. She recently upgraded the uniforms at the prestigious Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills and partnered with the “Race to Erase MS” event to create a handbag to help raise funds for the charity. She has shown her collection on the runway of LA Fashion week to favourable reviews.
