In the AI in ESG Investing competition organized by CFA Poland for the first time this year, the BİLGİ team represented by Caner Bal, an International Finance Graduate Program student, and Mert Koçoğlu, a Financial Economics Graduate Program student, successfully completed the first phase of the competition and earned the right to compete in the second phase.

BİLGİ is the only university from Turkey participating in the competition and is one of 11 universities selected from among 36 universities from the Central and Eastern European regions.

The students developed a scoring index for companies in the field of sustainable investment by using artificial intelligence methods, and in the first phase presented their ideas concerning innovative scoring variables that have never before been used in the world. In the second phase, the chosen ideas are tested using financial and artificial intelligence methods. Those students that successfully complete the final phase of the competition and are placed in the top three will receive a monetary award and earn the right to go on an internship at one of the financial companies that sponsored the competition.
