Important announcement about internships

updated at: published at:

Dear Students,

We would like to share the following decisions that we have taken regarding the internship courses as pursuant to the authority granted to the universities by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) so as to eliminate any possible adverse outcomes that you may experience and to prevent the graduating students from losing an academic year.

Our students from the Vocational School of Health Services and Faculty of Sciences who are about to graduate, can do face to face internships as long as the Health Directorate deems it suitable, they take the required measures, and choose the internship course in the Summer School. In case the Health Directorate disapproves it or there are students who are under risk due to chronic illnesses, our students will acquire the corresponding educational outputs through methods such as assignments and case studies. Our students from Vocational School of Health can obtain information from their academic advisors regarding the compensation of the days that they could not go to their internship during 2020-2021 Academic Year Spring Semester.

With the exception of Vocational School of Health Services and Faculty of Health Sciences, all our students who have compulsory internship can do remote or face to face internship in accordance with the organizations' convenience. Students who take internship courses in the Summer School can continue their internship on those days, apart from their exam days, that overlap with their courses.

In case the relevant academic unit deems it suitable, the students who are required to do internship will take an additional course within the 2021-2022 Academic Year or they will acquire the educational outputs offered by the internships through methods such as assignments and projects in the internship course that will be opened in 2021-2022 Academic Year.

All our students who are about to graduate from all the faculties, schools, and vocational schools of our university can do their compulsory internship between July 5-August 27, 2021 by choosing the internship class to be opened free of charge during the Summer School. Our students will acquire the educational outputs offered by the internship through methods such as assignments and projects. In addition, the certificates that the relevant academic unit deems suitable will be accepted as fulfilling one's internship course obligation.

Our students, who will not graduate this academic year, will be provided with the chance to do their 2021 and 2022 summer internships (a minimum of 40 work days in total) during 2022 summer holiday period so as to minimize the possible adverse outcomes that they may experience.

Kindly be informed.
