Assoc. Prof. Hasret Dikici Bilgin has been re-elected to the Executive Committee of IPSA

Assoc. Prof. Hasret Dikici Bilgin, member of İstanbul Bilgi University’s Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, International Relations Department, has been re-elected to the Executive Committe of the International Political Science Association (IPSA), one of the most established and reputable organizations of the field. Dr. Dikici Bilgin served as the program co-chair of IPSA’s 26th World Congress of Political Science on July 10-15, 2021 and was an executive board member during the 2018-2021 period.

Established in Paris in 1949 under the auspices of UNESCO, IPSA has around 3,000 members from 53 countries and it is known as one of the most extensive and reputable professional organizations in the field of political science.

Hasret Dikici Bilgin obtained her undergraduate degree in international relations from the Middle East Technical University, her master’s degree in sociology from the same university, and her PhD in political science from Sabancı University. Her research interests include class dimension of political Islam, comparative political institutions, and the political elite, with a special emphasis on political parties and elections. Dikici Bilgin is one of the editors of the book “Comparative Politics: Fundamental Issues and Approaches”, which received TÜBA’s (Turkish  Academy of Sciences) Scientific Work Award in 2014.
