Director of BİLGİ Vocational School of Health Services Prof. Zeynep Şimşek emphasized the motto ‘Learning not for school but for life,’ and stated the following: ‘It is of great value for us that our students come together with the representatives of the sector, especially with professional organizations. With this protocol, we will support on-the-job trainings of people who perform the profession of opticianry in addition to contributing to the professional formation of our students. Within the scope of our cooperation, we are going to carry out joint research-development projects.’

Emphasizing that difficulties in sight have become apparent especially with the pandemic, First Region İstanbul Opticians Chamber President Ayhan Demircan stated the following: ‘With the extension of life and ever-increasing dominance of technological devices in our lives, different optical apparatuses have been developed rapidly in addition to glasses. Careless production of optical apparatuses could lead to serious illnesses and accidents. For this reason, it is of great importance to train qualified opticians. With this cooperation, I believe we have taken a valuable step in this direction.’
