BİLGİ Faculty of Law students receive first prize in International Mediation Competition organized by ADR ODR International Limited

İstanbul Bilgi University Faculty of Law students Helin Erol, Ayşegül Dağhan, and Sıdıka Ilgaz Duman received first prize in International Mediation Competition organized by ADR ODR International Limited with the participation of 22 universities across the world. 

 

In the competition including university teams from countries such as Singapore, Indonesia, China, Brazil, United Kingdom, Australia, and Italia, İstanbul Bilgi University team was the only team that took part in the competition from Turkey. Having prepared for the competition with their team coach Ferda Canözer Paksoy, the founder of ADR İstanbul and the director of The Solution ADR, and their vice-coaches Damla Özbay and Yaman Gürsel, the students brought first prize to Turkey for the first time in an international mediation competition that is organized with the participation of students.  

 

Having taken place with the theme ‘Sky’s is the Limit!’, the matter of dispute for ADR ODR International Mediation Competition has been decided as ‘Space and Tech.’ Designed to provide solutions for the disputes of our age and the ever-changing world, the competition includes conducting a mediation session from the beginning till the end. 

 

University teams assigned one client, one attorney, and one mediator for each event as part of the competition. The students in the teams received scores based on their skills for acting as mediators, clients, or attorneys during the competition. With this achievement, İstanbul Bilgi University Faculty of Law students earned the right to represent Turkey in the mediation competition that will take place in Dubai in November.
