According to the results of the 1st term applications to TÜBİTAK 2209-A Research Project Support Programme for Undergraduate Students in 2022, Nil Yağmur İlba, a student in the Department of Industrial Engineering and the Data Science and Optimization Research Group (dsOpt), has been granted support for her project titled ‘Auction Price Prediction of Visual Artworks Using Machine Learning’, which is supervised by Faculty Member, Doruk Şen, PhD.

In the project, data sets will be created by collecting information about artworks and artists using open sources. The project aims to predict the auction price by applying supervised machine learning algorithms to the data. This forecasting model, which will be developed within the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, aims to increase investor diversity and transparency in the sector by supporting the main business structure.
