BİLGİ Psychology Undergraduate Program’s TPD accreditation has been extended

BİLGİ Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities’ Psychology Undergraduate Program has been re-accredited until June 19, 2028 for a duration of five years by the Association of Turkish Psychologists (TPD).

In the decision taken by TPD Psychology Programs Accreditation Unit, BİLGİ Psychology Undergraduate Program has been evaluated in fields such as the opportunities presented to students, educational goals of the program, program outputs, curriculum, academic staff, infrastructure, organization, and decision-making processes.

While BİLGİ Psychology Undergraduate Program’s special efforts in fostering students’ critical thinking abilities and ensuring that they acquire the ethical principles for psychological research and practice have been listed among the strengths of the program, it has been stated that the educational outputs of the program are compatible with the international standards and TPD-PPAB Program Outputs. In addition to that, the fact that students are presented with extensive opportunities to have a minor or double major, to take courses from different departments and disciplines, to participate in international exchange programs; the academic staff’s effective social outreach activities outside of the courses as well, and the services provided through Psychological Counseling Unit have been listed among the other strengths of the program that have been emphasized in the decision.

Accrediting psychology undergraduate programs since 2010 by the authority granted by the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council, TPD has accredited a total of 16 Psychology Undergraduate Programs in Türkiye.
