Workshop on the new TCO and TCC at the Court of Appeals, organized by İstanbul Bilgi University Faculty of Law, in cooperation with the Presidency of the Turkish Court of Appeals

İstanbul Bilgi University Faculty of Law, in cooperation with the Presidency of the Turkish Court of Appeals, will organize a comprehensive eight-day workshop for members of the Turkish Court of Appeals on the new Turkish Code of Obligations and the Turkish Commercial Code. The first four days of the Workshop that will take place between 3 to 6 January 2012 will be devoted to the new Turkish Code of Obligations, while in the second part, which will take place from 9 to 12 January 2012, the new Turkish Commercial Code will be evaluated.  The goal of the Workshop is to explain and discuss the new regulations introduced by the two fundamental codes that will enter into force on 1st July 2012 and to develop solutions which may guide the practice in areas that require interpretation. The workshop will begin with the opening speeches of Prof. Dr. Turgut Tarhanlı, Dean of the İstanbul Bilgi University Law Faculty and Nazım A. Kaynak, President of the Turkish Court of Appeals. The speakers comprise Prof. Dr. Ünal Tekinalp, Chairman of the Turkish Commercial Code Commission; Prof. Dr. Rona Serozan, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yeşim M. Atamer and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat İnceoğlu, Civil Law Department, İstanbul Bilgi University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kübra Doğan Yenisey, Labor Law Deparment, İstanbul Bilgi University; Prof. Dr. Veliye Yanlı and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gül Okutan Nilsson, Commercial Law Department, İstanbul Bilgi University; Asst. Prof. Dr. Leyla Keser Berber, Director, Institute of Information and Technology Law at İstanbul Bilgi University and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Burak Özen, Civil Law Department, Marmara University.
