One World Youth Project is a unique service-learning program that en¬gages university students as cross-cultural facilitators, called Project Am¬bassadors (PAs), in local secondary schools. As part of the program, par¬ticipants at the İstanbul Bilgi University will take part in a unique training course, and will act as facilitators in local İstanbul schools, leading a cur¬riculum based on cross-cultural understanding and community engagement in order to prepare youth to be leaders in the in¬creasingly interconnected world. OWYP provides dynamic training and technology in order to bring this cultural exchange opportu¬nity to the classroom. OWYP at the İstanbul Bilgi University is now accepting applications. 

OWYP offers PAs following opportunities & responsibilities:

Participate in OWYP’s Online Training Course (April-May 2012) to introduce you to the OWYP Program, the concepts explored in the OWYP curriculum, and practical teaching skills  Attend the two-day Fall Site Training led by OWYP staff on your campus to prepare you to be an effective classroom facilitator  Be a part of an international network of university student leaders  Facilitate weekly OWYP curriculum in your local classroom using the OWYP lesson plans (Sep¬tember 2012-May 2013)  Use innovative technology to connect your classroom with your partner classroom abroad 

Deadline: March 26, 2012 

Weekly time commitment: roughly 5 hrs
