One World Youth Project is a unique service-learning program that engages university students as cross-cultural facilitators, called Proj¬ect Ambassadors (PAs), in local secondary schools. As part of the pro¬gram, participants at the İstanbul Bilgi University will take part in a unique training course, and will act as facilitators in local Istanbul middle schools, leading a curricu¬lum based on cross-cultural under-standing and community engagement in order to prepare youth to be leaders in the increas¬ingly interconnected world. OWYP provides dynamic training and technology in order to bring this cultural exchange opportunity to the classroom. OWYP at the İstanbul Bilgi University is now accepting applications. All PAs may receive BUS 271 & 272 credit.  Weekly time commitment: roughly 5 hrs This Project Ambassador opportunities & responsibilities: o Participate in OWYP’s Online Training Course (April-May 2013) to introduce you to the OWYP Program, the concepts explored in the OWYP curriculum, and practical teaching skills o Attend the two-day Fall Site Training led by OWYP staff on your campus to prepare you to be an effective classroom facilitator o Be a part of an international network of university student leaders o Facilitate weekly OWYP curriculum in your local classroom using the OWYP lesson plans (September 2013-May 2014) o Use innovative technology to connect your classroom with your partner classroom abroad Application deadline: March 22, 2012 Learn more and apply at this link: http://oneworldyouthproject.org/ibu-pa-application/
