The Laureate Summit on Youth & Jobs

The Laureate Summit on Youth & Jobs in Europe took place in Madrid, Spain on May 21st. The Summit brought together more than 200 notable business executives, government officials and leaders of academic institutions and encouraged conversation around the roles various sectors can and should play to create a new generation of employable and employed young people.

42nd President of the United States and Honorary Chancellor of Laureate International Universities Bill Clinton was among the speakers. In his speech, Bill Clinton noted that “the keys to creating jobs are to instill a spirit of innovation and restore hope to the current generation of jobless European youth”. Three pannels on employer, educator and government perspectives were held within the summit.

Rifat Sarıcaoğlu, Chairman of İstanbul Bilgi University Board of Trustees was the moderator of the panel on ‘Perspective of the Government’ and Ali Pandir, Fiat/Chrysler Turkey Country Head, was one of the panelists of ‘Perspective of the Employer’.

Laureate International Universities broadcasts all international events live so that member universities can follow up with the network. The Laureate Summit on Youth & Jobs was broadcast live in Santral Residence Board of Trustees Room at İstanbul Bilgi University.
