One World Youth Project is a unique service-learning program that engages university students as cross-cultural facilitators, called Project Ambassadors (PAs), in local secondary schools. As part of the program, participants at the İstanbul Bilgi University will take part in a unique training course, and will act as facilitators in local Istanbul middle schools, leading a curriculum based on cross-cultural understanding and community engagement in order to prepare youth to be leaders in the increasingly interconnected world.

OWYP provides dynamic training and technology in order to bring this cultural exchange opportunity to the classroom. OWYP at the İstanbul Bilgi University is now accepting applications. PAs may receive BUS 271 & 272 credit.

Weekly time commitment: roughly 5-8 hrs

This Project Ambassador opportunities & responsibilities:

Participate in OWYP’s Online Training Course (Spring 2014) to introduce you to the OWYP Program, the concepts explored in the OWYP curriculum, and practical teaching skills Attend the two-day Fall Site Training led by OWYP staff on your campus to prepare you to be an effective classroom facilitator Be a part of an international network of university student leaders Facilitate weekly OWYP curriculum in your local classroom using the OWYP lesson plans (September 2014-May 2015) Use innovative technology to connect your classroom with your partner classroom abroad
