BİLGİ team member Ms. Elvan Yolcu got an honorable mention in the category Martin Domke Award, Best Individual Oralists in the Annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. This year İstanbul Bilgi University is represented in the 24th Willem C. Vis Moot in Vienna by Ms Betsy Telim, Ms Ecesu Pınarcı, Ms Elvan Yolcu, Ms Emel Dilara Topanoğlu, Ms Ezgi Kuyumcu, Mr İhsan Bahadır Çeliktaş and Mr Uğur Çağlar Şenol.

Today the Willem C. Vis Moot is one of the largest and the most prestigious moot competition. The purpose of the Vis Moot is to support the study of the students on the international commercial law and arbitration. Accordingly, moot competition is organized on the resolution of international business disputes through application of the CISG and international commercial arbitration to a concrete problem. The language of the moot is English and competition has two stages. In the first stage, the teams analyse the Moot problem and write memoranda for claimant and respondent. The second stage is the pleading of oral arguments based on the memoranda at the general rounds which are held in Vienna in April. 

 Each year more than 300 universities participate to the Vis Moot. Around 1,200 students compete in the oral stage and are assessed regarding their individual advocacy abilities. With respect to this assessment, BİLGİ team member Elvan Yolcu won the Martin Domke Best Oralist Award and ranked among the first 10%. Thus, BILGI team won Martin Domke award for the fourth time in six years.
