BİLGİ Industrial Design Senior Student Beyza Özmen’s graduation project “Mobile Playground” aims to provide an accessible playing area for children living in disadvantageous neighborhoods lack of play space in İstanbul.
Özmen’s playground is inspired from portable carousels she saw in some districts of İstanbul and can be carried anywhere with a trailer tow hook. For her project designed for children between the ages of 6-9, Özmen observed children’s move to burn off energy and placed play tools in her playground inspired from percussion instruments for children to create sounds. Children will be able to develop motor skills as they are creating sounds by trial and error method in the playground.
