Since the aviation industry is characterized by fierce competition combined with strict safety regulations and the need for sustainable growth, there exists a growing need for an efficient education system that trains highly-qualified prospective employees.

With a view to providing the international aviation industry with well-trained employees equipped with the necessary qualifications, İstanbul Bilgi University started to offer an undergraduate degree in aviation management during the academic year 2016-2017. The department aims to train aviation executives and managers who can comply with international aviation standards and use existing resources efficiently, closely follow advances in aviation technologies, and are equipped with high levels of theoretical knowledge.

Graduates of the department will have acquired the necessary skills for working at the marketing, accounting, finance, flight-operations, quality-management and safety-management units of aviation companies. They can be employed by airport and terminal operators, airline companies, ground services providers, logistics and air cargo companies, or any other public or private organization active in the aviation industry.

Upon graduation, students will be equipped with all skills required by the rapidly growing civil aviation industry, and will be sought-after employees both in Turkey and the world.

Graduates of the department:

  • will be equipped with the most recent, accurate and internationally acknowledged theoretical and practical skills;
  • will become creative, solution-oriented and analytically-minded persons able to question, research and think in accordance with universal values, without ignoring their own values;
  • will be committed to ethical values, and play a leading role in developing our country within a social innovation and sustainability framework;
  • will be able to analyze the basic structure of the aviation industry and its relations to other industries;
  • will have a good command of the national and international regulations and practices governing the aviation industry;
  • will be equipped with the knowledge and skills required by both their management responsibilities and the requirements of the aviation industry in general; and
  • will be open to lifelong learning and continuous improvement.
