About the Honors Programs

As the only University of London Recognised Teaching Centre in Türkiye, İstanbul Bilgi University offers the Economics and Economics and Finance Honours Programmes under this partnership, with academic direction provided by the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

Students who meet the specified academic requirements and successfully complete an Honours Programme are eligible to receive a University of London degree in addition to their İstanbul Bilgi University Honours Programme degree.

• İstanbul Bilgi University students who have successfully completed the first-year courses of the programme in which they initially enrolled and have sufficient proficiency in English and Mathematics may transfer to either the Economics Honours Programme or the Economics and Finance Honours Programme, subject to the results of an annual examination and interview. Students admitted to an Honours Programme continue their studies in that programme for the remaining three years.
• As an exception, students enrolled in the Economics or Economics and Finance programmes at İstanbul Bilgi University are admitted to the corresponding Economics Honours Programme or Economics and Finance Honours Programme without taking an additional examination, provided that they have successfully completed the first-year courses of their respective programmes and have sufficient proficiency in English and Mathematics.
• The Honours Programmes follow a dedicated curriculum. The curriculum and course materials are developed under the administration of the University of London, with academic direction provided by LSE, ensuring an education that meets high international academic standards.
• During the academic year, students complete projects and examinations prepared and assessed by İstanbul Bilgi University faculty members. In addition, at the end of the academic year, in April and May, they sit a separate examination for each course, prepared and assessed by LSE academics. Grades obtained in BİLGİ assessments determine the student’s BİLGİ degree classification, while grades obtained in the LSE examinations determine their University of London degree classification.
• Students who successfully complete the examinations prepared by LSE are invited to attend the University of London graduation ceremony held in London in March of the year following their graduation from BİLGİ.
